Business Services
The economy of Southwestern Connecticut is changing at an unprecedented pace. To remain competitive businesses will need to foster a culture of innovation and flexibility. Several major trends are combining to drive change in Southwestern Connecticut including: technology, the aging workforce, immigration, regional and global integration. Employers need resources to address these issues and to facilitate partnerships that will enable their businesses to succeed.
Businesses in Southwestern Connecticut have an opportunity to realize economic benefits by addressing these trends, particularly in the Health Care, Manufacturing, and Financial Services sectors. The WorkPlace, Inc. strives to anticipate and understand the changes shaping the regional economy and labor force in order to respond to the needs of employers and workers. In doing so, we have created Business Services to foster dialogue between industry and education providers to focus on the ongoing challenge of educating and training workers.
To help ensure economic expansion is sustained by regional employers we will foster skill-building initiatives and provide access to information that will aid in understanding our changing economy. Business Services will create programs and deliver information that responds to business needs
