Building a strong workforce benefits all employers. The WorkPlace, Inc. acts as a convenor, a catalyst, a collaborator, and an advocate for workforce development throughout southwestern
Increasingly, the focus is shifting to “lifelong learning” and to working with employers to train their employees. Customized job training services and incentives are available for specific high-growth sectors and for improving the skills and opportunities of low-wage workers.

In addition, The WorkPlace seeks to work with employers to:
¨ understand their current and emerging needs,
¨ gain support for pipeline development (ensuring a qualified future workforce),
¨ participate in youth programs (for example: internships, mentoring, and job shadowing), and
¨ promote policies which are favorable to economic development.
The CTWorks Career Coach is a unique resource, a high-tech mobile classroom which can deliver services anywhere, anytime. The Career Coach is available to employers on a rental basis to provide training to their employees and for special events. Quotations for customized training are available on request. Marketing opportunities are also available.
Specialized resources have been developed to assist employers in preparing for the Aging Workforce and the period of sustained skilled worker shortage which is predicted as Baby Boomers retire. “Are You Ready?” is a joint program with AARP which builds awareness and provides tools for employers.
