The WorkPlace, Inc.'s proposal for a Bridgeport Green Jobs Training initiative, supported by bluegreen Research Institute data, was selected from among more than 500 submissions and is being awarded a $4 million, 2-year grant under the U.S. Department of Labor’s “Pathways Out of Poverty” program, with funding from ARRA.

The National Association of Workforce Boards included The WorkPlace, Inc. and bluegreen in its launch of a Promising Practices website, a clearinghouse of Best Practices from throughout the country. Several program examples are included which have a Green Jobs focus and serve populations including youth, veterans and incumbent workers.

The bluegreen Research Institute provides grant writing, research and related services to business and non-profits. As the former Center for Capacity Development, we built our name by providing organizational assessments and contracted grant procurement services. Capacity Building Classes Forming
Training for non-profits in all areas of Capacity Building, including building your Board of Directors, Revenue Development, Financial Management, Legal Clinic and more. Classes are available upon request and delivered on-site or in our training facility in Bridgeport. All classes are two hours and can be customized for content.
Today, the bluegreen Research Institute also provides market analysis, workforce intelligence and data reports to allow for data-driven decision-making. Our access to established databases, both proprietary and in the public domain, makes generating reports including projections for regional outlooks, industry profiles and business trends easy and affordable.
Our Bridgeport Region Green Jobs Study is helping drive training and education decisions in the region. Need a similar analysis for your municipality, region or state? We can do that. Beyond quantifying occupations, we provide analysis on which occupations have the most incidence of cross-over among Green industry sectors; which sectors have the potential for the most occupations to fall within them; and recommendations for how the region can respond to its needs, using existing resources as well as suggested new initiatives.
